p, li { white-space: pre-wrTermites aren't really a seasonal pest. In warmer, wetter climates than St. Louis, they are a menace year-round, as the queens continue creating eggs at a steady rate EVERY DAY as long as they are warm and well fed, until they die and are replaced. The King and Queen, in fact, are both fed AND groomed by workers, who are allowed to enter the "royal cell", or queen's bedroom, through small openings in the hard, protective wall around the chamber. They also provide transportation for the fertilized eggs, which are moved to the incubation chambers.

Termite Control St LouisThe NUMBER of eggs is what is important. The age of the queen is one factor in this. As the queen ages, her production will slow. However, temperature is also a massive contributor to the production of eggs. In tropical regions, egg production is continuous through the entire year, whereas more temperate regions, such as St. Louis, feature cycles. The termites here breed rapidly, creating a frenzy of termite activity that endangers buildings and construction sites in the spring.

Knowing the signs that you have termites is a major contributor to preventing them from doing MASSIVE damage to your home, and finding them is what a pest control professional like Chuck Richardson of Richardson Pest Solutions will do. He has been ridding homes of Termites since 1972, and a quick call to (314) 297-2210 in St. Louis or 636-387-2400 in St. Charles will let you setup a free inspection.
